Hubbers off to California!

30 07 2008

Three of our Hubbers are heading off to the International Association of School Libraries conference in Berkeley, California, which starts this weekend.

Barbara Combes, Vice-President, Advocacy and Promotion of IASL and lecturer for the School of Computing and Information Science (SCIS) at Edith Cowan University.  Barbara is presenting a paper on her PhD research on information seeking behavior of the Net Generation.

Dona Hartwich, Senior Librarian, Horsham College, is presenting on the value of TLs in teaching information literacy. And she got coverage about her trip in her local Horsham paper!

Leonie Paatsch, Hub co-founder, is running a workshop on teachers as reading role models for teens. Sure to be a winner!

We know all three will be hits and we hope they will get the opportunity to network with Canadian and American TL activists and bring back ideas for stratagies for our campaign.  Right girrrrls?!!!

Have a great time and come back with new ideas!!
