A year to celebrate

21 12 2010

It was the work of you all in writing letters to politicians and the papers and in talking to your local representatives which brought on the federal inquiry. A report with strong recommendations will be imperative for the federal government to act on. But there is much to still do in each state: contacting your state representatives, local media, and above all, parents, to bring home the message that teacher librarians make a difference to student learning and literacy.

We at the Hub hope our efforts spurred you on. Some of these efforts are shown here. We must all keep up the lobbying and publicity in 2011, but for now we can celebrate the coverage which the Inquiry gave us. The issues are being discussed and addressed. Teacher librarians are out there! We join our colleagues in the UK and in the US in fighting for the best learning opportunities for our students.

Have a great holiday celebration, and revive and recommit to united action in 2011!!
